As a surgical member of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow, and a fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology, Dr. Khan has over 25 years of experience in ophthalmology. His previous roles include heading the pediatric ophthalmology unit at Mediclinic Parkview, Mediclinic Welcare Hospitals, Dubai Hospital, Dubai Health Authority, and consulting in British Guyana, Ain Al Khaleej Hospital in Al Ain, UAE, and with Orbis International and the Government of Guyana at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.

Dr. Khan's educational background includes an AAPOS Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Retinal Dystrophy from McGill University, Canada, and another fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus from the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. He completed a 5year Residency at Aligarh Muslim University, followed by anterior segment training at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and small incision cataract surgery training in Nepal. He also served as an Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology at Tribhuvan University, Nepal, and co-founded a state of-the-art pediatric ophthalmology service in Una, India. His tenure at Saad Specialist Hospital, Eastern Province, included providing comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology services and performing advanced strabismus surgeries. An acclaimed speaker at international conferences, Dr. Khan received the 2012 AAPOS Research Award in San Antonio, Texas. He is an author/co-author of multiple scientific articles, serves on the Editorial Board of Dubai Medical Journal, and is an associate editor and reviewer for various international journals. His academic contributions extend to teaching sixteen ophthalmology residents and conducting research alongside his clinical practice in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismology.
