“Well, where to start from??? 8 months ago I dislocated my elbow with a fracture associated and I got sent by the football team chairman to the Burjeel hospital at 10pm. I did not know what to expect and Doctor Machani was appointed to my case. He explained to me all details, followed up Evey week after first diagnosis, asked for an x-ray at each appointment, an MRI on the first also. All this to avoid a surgery and get it healed naturally if possible with a six weeks dynamicly adjustable rigid support. After 4 month I got back FULL functionality, followed by his personal physiotherapist. This gave me the courage to threat a bigger problem I had on my left wrist on which I had lost 60% of rotation and 30% of both supination and pronation, and 30% of longitudinal movement. After x-rays, MRI and CT-Scan we agreed that ulna was in wrong position and a Shortening Osteotomy was required. 2.5 months ago the procedure was done under general anesthesia. Plaster removed 5 weeks ago and final result in this timeframe is to have around 80/85% movements in all directions with really minimal pain. Aim is to continue physio and hope to reach 95%! Thank you so much Doctor!!!! You changed my life, I would reccommend Dr. Machani blindly to everybody who has an upper arm part serious issue . Best wrist surgeon I have met I. More than 4 countries!! Mauro.“

I went to Burjeel Hospital emergency with a fractured scaphoid bone in my wrist and excruciating pain, Dr Machani was called in and from the moment he arrived he quickly assessed the severity of my injury and straight away put a temporary cast on my hand to help with the unbearable pain(three specialist doctors I saw the day before failed to do so). He then explained that i had a bad lunate dislocation (carpal bones) along with a fractured scaphoid and needed a surgery immediately. He outlined the procedure with detail, addressed my concerns and I went into surgery within a few hours. Dr Machani was there every step of the way and took care of everything from admissions to paperwork and made sure I was reassured and comfortable. The surgery went exactly as the doctor expected, the next few days he check on me every day until I was discharged. A week later I had my hand put into a cast for six weeks after which I had a second small procedure to remove wires supporting my wrist repair. Six months down the line I’m extremely satisfied with the surgery and my overall experience at the Burjeel Hospital. Dr Machani is a genuinely caring doctor interested in the well being of his patients and undoubtedly the best upper limb specialists in the region, can’t recommend him enough.
