Dr Bassam Mahboob is a Consultant in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Disease at United Medical Centre (UMC). He is an expert pulmonologist and a specialist in allergy diseases. He also serves as the head of the respiratory department at Rashid Hospital.

Dr Mahboob received his medical degree (MBBS) from the United Arab Emirates University in 1994 and also holds the FRCP(C) in internal medicine. Additionally, he has an MBA from Wolverhampton University.

He has won a number of awards during his career including 'senior researcher award' from the Dubai Health Authority in 2016 and 'best researcher award'. He has also earned the 'patient advocate doctor award'.

He is certified by both the American and Canadian Boards of Internal Medicine in Pulmonary and Immunology. Additionally, he is a Sharjah University teaching professor with extensive expertise in both teaching and research.

He speaks English and Arabic.
