My daughter fractured her wrist during sports. She was attended by Dr. Assad Qureshi - pediatrician orthopaedic. Dr Qureshi is very knowledgeable, very patient in hearing , advising and also during medical procedures. Dr was very quick in his response while we approached through WhatsApp or mail and very understanding.

Thanks. I find it is very helpful for parents to have a point of contact outside of working hours following surgery/casting as small queries can often be resolved over whatsapp rather than necessitating another hospital visit. It does make my whatsapp quite busy out of hours but I really do feel it facillitates good patient care.

Thank you, it is very nice to be described as elegant - it's not a descriptor which comes up often in Orthopaedic Surgery.

Thank you. I would like to think my clinic room has a good ambience with my Bonsai trees (artificial of course) and thank you cards lining the window.

I try to give comprehensive explanations for even simple matters. It's easy to say a child has growing pains but more important to elaborate - why have symptoms come on now? why more in one leg than the other? how long will they take to get better? what supportive measures can be done to help resolve symptoms? Furnishing patients and families with as much information as possible is very important in Pediatric Orthopedics.

My son was referred to Dr. Assad by his pediatrician. Being the anxious parents we wanted to see him as soon as possible. He accommodated us during a very busy morning. He was just an excellent professional. Had all the time in the world of our son, gained his trust immediately, guided him through a thorough examination with ease, explained the problem to us in details and guided us through the management plan. We left his clinic feeling that we are in safe and capable hands and much better.

Thank you for this kind review. One of the most important aspects of seeing a fellowship trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon is avoiding unnecessary treatment. I do come across postural clubfeet which are diagnosed as idiopathic clubfoot and undergo serial casting and bracing. This is very unfortunate due to the costs of treatment that have to be borne by the family but more so the emotional impact of the diagnosis and burden of long treatment plans and continual surveillance. Seeing a fellowship trained Pediatric Orthopedic Consultant ensures that a child receives the correct diagnosis and that unnecessary treatment can be avoided.

We had an emergency after my son broke his arm. Dr Assad directly suggested a method that can be used without much pain and long term damage. We had great confidence from the beginning despite the upcoming direct surgery. Dr Assad was always there for us during the entire treatment and my son had no fear or even shyness because he always treated us great. After 10 weeks we can now say that everything has healed and the treatment without screws etc. was exactly right. He has been there for us with all questions and took a lot of time! We are very happy that we met dr Assad on this accident day, who has helped us super!

Thank you for this comprehensive and generous review. I often counsel families before an operation for a traumatic injury that I will have a series of treatment options which are progressively more invasive. My aim is to use the most minimal and least invasive surgical treatment to guarantee the optimal outcome. If I can get away with doing less for a particular fracture and just apply a good cast alone rather than plates or screws then I will choose the lesser option. But only if it does not risk compromising the final outcome. A good surgeon should have all techniques at his disposal but be able to select the least invasive treatment method that will ensure the best outcome.
