Dr Anastasia Athanasiou is a Orthopaedic Surgeon at California Chiropractic and Sports Medicine Center Dubai with over 20 years of experience. She specialises in paediatric orthopaedics, sports medicine, reconstructive surgery and hand microsurgery.

Kyriakou General Children's Hospital before moving to NIMITS Military Hospital. She became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2008 and has been practicing in the UAE since 2013. Dr Athanasiou is also a Member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Aerospace Medical Association, Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society and the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy.
During her studies, Dr Athanasiou was introduced to yoga as medical treatment and other alternative and complementary medicine treatments such as acupuncture, massage therapy and manipulative therapy. Her passion for alternative and complementary medicine led her to become a certified Yoga Instructor during her residency. With her expertise in orthopaedic surgery, alternative medicine and complementary medicine, Dr Athanasiou incorporates classic orthopaedic techniques with innovate therapies, including PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) treatments, intra articular injections and nerve block injections using ultrasound guidance.
