Dr Jomana Karim completed her medical education at the University of St Andrews & the University of Manchester. After obtaining her medical degrees Dr Jomana worked in several large multi-speciality hospitals in Greater Manchester completing job rotations in General Surgery, General Medicine, Endocrinology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Inpatient Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine.
Dr Jomana obtained her certificate of completion of postgraduate medical training in the speciality of Family Medicine in 2016. She became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners(UK).
After completing her post graduate training, Dr Jomana provided general practice clinics within the UK's National Health Service (NHS) alongside working at Manchester’s busiest emergency departments as a primary care physician.
Dr Jomana is an active provider of medical education to other doctors and health care professionals on subjects relating to preventative medicine such as blood pressure management , cholesterol management and smoking cessation.
Dr Jomana has worked at Novomed Centres for 4 years where she sees patients with both acute and chronic health concerns.
She is also part of the Novomed Bariatric team and has extensive experience of working in weight management services both in UAE and the UK. She has participated in the care of several hundred bariatric surgery patients both pre and post operatively.
She holds SCOPE certification from the World Obesity Federation and has been trained to provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for the management of obesity . She is a recognised regional speaker for the injectable weight loss medications.
Dr Jomana has a passion for health and fitness and is a qualified swimming instructor and personal trainer.
She is a true family physician and can see patients from all age groups, with varying different medical conditions.
