Dr Ghulam Shabbir is a Specialist Neurologist at Prime Hospital and Prime Medical Center Motor City and Deira, Dubai. He completed his medical degree at the University of Sindh, Pakistan in 1999 and is a Member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
After qualifying, he underwent extensive training at a number of centres of excellence, including the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and Aga Khan University Hospital in Pakistan. Through this training, Dr Shabbir became both a Member and Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan in General Medicine and Neurology respectively. He also completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine as well as a Fellowship with the European Board of Neurology.
Dr Shabbir moved to the UAE and began working with the Prime Hospital Group in Dubai in 2012. In his current position, he manages and treats a broad range of both common and complex neurological conditions. He has expertise in the following areas: headaches, epilepsy, dizziness/vertigo, muscle weakness, stroke, memory disorders, Alzheimer's Disease, dementia, tremor and Multiple Sclerosis, among many other conditions. He also has expertise in carrying out neurological tests, including EMG, EEG, VEP, NCS and EMG-guided Botox therapy.
