Dr Asrar ul Haq is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist with many years of experience in interventional cardiology techniques such as complex angioplasties (using the trans-radial approach), physiology assessment, and intracoronary imaging. He sees private patients at the Heart of Melbourne Manningham Specialist Centre.

Dr Ul Haq earned his primary medical qualification at the University of Health Sciences in India, after which he travelled to the UK, where he undertook his basic training at renowned medical centres such as the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and in the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Upon completion of training in the UK, Dr Haq then came to Australia to further his training, at Fiona Stanley Hospital and also Northern Health, Melbourne.

Dr Haq then went on to complete his Doctorate at the University of Melbourne, during which he researched Early Echocardiographic assessment of Heart Failure. He has since become an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne (Faculty of medicine) and has also gained fellowship with the European Society of Cardiology; the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and the American College of Cardiology.
