Dr Anita Boecksteiner is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with over two decades of experience in the treatment and management of orthopaedic issues including Ankle/foot, Should, Knee and Hip problems. She is also well versed in procedures such as preservation, reconstruction and repair of joints and cartilage. She sees private patients at St Vincent's Private Hospital, Melbourne.
Dr Boecksteiner gained her primary medical qualification at Melbourne University in 1990 and went on to train at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she found her passion for orthopaedic surgery. After teaching Anatomy at Stanford University and Melbourne University, Dr Boecksteiner gained her Diploma in Anatomy. She later gained fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and gained fellowship at the St Vincent's Hospital, where she gained knowledge and experience in Reconstructive and Alignment surgery. She also went on to gain fellowships in Knee Sports injuries limb deformity correction in Melbourne and Liverpool, UK.
Since her Consultant appointment, Dr Boecksteiner has become a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Australian Orthopedic Association, Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Society. She is also an active member of the scientific research community, authoring various research publications and presenting her work at national and international conferences.
